Carlotta Luke

March 28, 2018

Ghostly reminders of Lewes’ commercial past are writ large on walls around town, and Carlotta Luke has been collecting them up, to fit her photo column in with this month’s theme. And so, clockwise from top left, we have: the proud sign of a former printer; a cigarette advert for a brand that no longer exists; a notice for an ‘engineer and general smith’; the lettering announcing the premises of a coal merchant, and a former sports shop. But can you name the streets the signs are in? (Answers on pg 3 of VL#139.)
