This month Carlotta was invited by a friend to visit and photograph the Haredean Allotment at Hope-in-the-Valley, and came up with this colourful - and slightly surreal - collection. She writes: “The ghoulish face was in a corner of one of the plots - maybe some kind of scarecrow? The bicycle wheel is a runner bean support, the roses were being watered.” She doesn’t mention the globe artichoke - technically a thistle - delicious (when ripe) steamed and eaten, leaf by leaf, with olive oil. Yum. You can see more of Carlotta’s pictures at carlottaluke.com.
